Automotive industry Schema and Video SEO

This video talks about marketing videos in the automotive world and how Schema in particular helps promote them online.

Schema works particularly well in the automotive sector as it is already coded for brands, products and technical procedures. Couple this with the ability to localise a business and answer specific queries being asked in search gives any garage or other auto industry player a huge advantage.

I shot a couple of videos for my then local garage a few years back, one on motorbike MOT’s and one on general garage services. Prior to putting the clips online, I could usually book in for work within a day or two most but after they went live it was two weeks if I was lucky, often longer.

Automotive is one of the key sectors that we work in. It’s an area that’s of great interest to me. I’m into old cars and things.

And so when we get the opportunity to work on a vintage car or for a race car company, anything like that, it’s of great interest, and it’s usually really good fun. It’s good to show the work being done. And it’s good to talk about what is possible to do and the benefits that can be brought out.

One of the reasons that we work here in the automotive sector is because it’s one of the three areas at the moment that the schema is really quite powerful in. Those three areas are the medical health care sector, which we work in, literature, and the automotive sector. And that means we can use codes to identify every aspect of an automotive business– the brands who they work on, the brands they sell, the vehicles for various repairs, improvements, upgrades, their location, any racing success, anything like that.

We are able to tie all this into code that the search engines can read. And that is the basis of rich snippets, structured data, voice search. So the information we put into video, and then expand that in terms of code, enables us to really promote an automotive business. And as it’s something that’s close to my heart, I’m more than happy to get involved in doing that. So that’s something that we do that is absolutely great.

Better content is outweighing more content.
