TikTok announce bigger, much bigger video description

TikTok enables better search

TikTok has expanded its post description field from 300 characters to 2,200 which enables us to talk about the clip and what business it relates to and where it is, and to get it found.

The TikTok algorithm, as on the Chinese version, is really adept at linking younger audiences with the stores they chose and their social media.

“This allows you to express more details about your creations, describing what your videos show, giving you the opportunity to get closer to your audience, generating more engagement while becoming more searchable and better recommended by TikTok to viewers.”

That the clips are ‘searchable’ is the most important takeaway.

As Social Media Today recently reported, TikTok is fast becoming a key search platform for younger audiences.
